When is the recruitment for SWEAR?

Typically, SWEAR recruitment will occur every May/June. However, we are still looking for representatives from Kearny and Lincoln High Schools. Interested students should visit our 'Join the Team' page. You will be emailed with a few short answer prompts to assess how you’d fit in our team. We would like two representatives from each school in SDUSD.

Who will I work with in SWEAR?

SWEAR is student-run, so you will be connected with some of the most passionate and driven leaders in SDUSD. We also encourage collaboration with school administration and counseling. In addition, SWEAR committee members have the opportunity to work with mental health professionals from Rady’s Children’s Hospital and UCSD.

What leadership opportunities are there for SWEAR representatives?

All SWEAR members either partner with or create a mental health club on their school campus as an extension of the district SWEAR Committee. These clubs are run by their school’s representatives and allows for creative freedom. The Committee also has a leadership team that can be found here.

Who advises SWEAR?

The SWEAR Committee is under the supervision of the Integrated Youth Services division of the San Diego Unified School District. Our advisor is Sharon Rubalcava, the Counseling and Guidance Program Manager.
